went to Ireland to learn English. There she joined the Sisters of Loreto at
Loreto Abbey. From then, her life begun as a nun. After learning English she was sent to India as a missionary. She always wanted to be a missionary and

On 10 September 1946, she was traveling to Calcutta from
Darjeeling. She was going there by train. During her journey, she witnessed the
real condition of the poor people around her. They were neglected, unloved,
unwanted and was ill. And many of them were homeless also. Seeing this was very
painful to her. Then she decided to help them and treat them. She left her
comfortable life and took a white sari with a blue border and went down to the

Missionaries of Charity and many other charitable institutes all over across
India. And later she expanded her Missionaries of Charity from India to other
