about it because it is trending! Today’s topic is “Miss Universe 2019”. It is
going to be held on tomorrow, 8 December. It will hold at Tyler Perry Studios
in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. Catriona Gray will crown her
successor. She is the winner of Miss Universe 2018. She is from the Philippines. It
is the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition. Steve Harvey
will host the show. And Ally Brooke will perform on this show. The crown of
this edition is made by luxury jeweler Mouawad.
The selection of the location of this show was not easy.
The current location of this show was not selected suddenly. In December 2018,
Filipino politician and businessman Chavit Singson declared that thew 68th
edition of this show will be held in Seoul, South Korea. He is from LCS Group of
Companies. This company financed the Miss Universe 2016 venue. But it did not
happen. After that, the Philippines and Brazil wanted to host the competition. The Philippines wanted it because the winner of Miss Universe 2018 was from their
country and they wanted to crown their successor in their homeland. Brazil was
also interested because UNESCO will declare Rio de Janeiro the World Capital
of Architecture. That’s why they wanted to host more international events for
their popularity. But it also did not happen. After many considerations, on
October 2019, the Miss Universe Organization confirmed that the competition
will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Now we will talk about the
selection of the contestants. It was also a long process. 90 contestants were
selected from around the world. Some of them won their own country contests
and some were selected randomly. There were 7 members in the selection committee.
