The Story Of Patience

Hi there! I am Aupurbo Kumar Kumar Mohonto. I am here to share the details about today’s trending topic patience. So let’s start!

From childhood, we are taught some good virtues to be good in our life. One of them is to be patient. Well, ‘Patient’ is the adverb for the word ‘Patience’. It is an art after all. There are lots of definitions of patience. We will discuss most of them. But first of all, we will talk about the scientific perspective of this term patience.

Science is a great thing that makes our life better. For that scientists are always doing something with someone to prove anything. Well, they also had some of their experiments on the term patience. In psychology, they study it as a decision-making problem that every animal on earth face including humans. After all, we are not over our emotions. Scientists did their study on between common marmosets and cotton-top tamarins. They are two different kinds of species. Both of them faced a self-control paradigm in which individuals had to choose between taking an immediate small reward and waiting more time for a bigger reward. The study showed that it was dependent on their way of living. That means marmosets will be more patient than tamarins. Because, they rely on food called gum, that emits slowly from treebank. But tamarins are insect eater. They don’t wait for a big reward, instead of that they wait for a short time and take the small reward.

At the beginning, I told about regional and scientific perspectives. I mentioned the scientific part. Now comes the religious part.

Hinduism : In Hindu culture, it is also a great virtue to a good life. Where, some of them use words like ‘Pariksha’, ‘Sahisnuta’, ‘Titiksha’ or ‘Sahanshilta’ to define patience. Well, they all lead to one thing, patience.

Buddhism : In Buddhism, patience is one of the ‘Perfections(Paramitas)’ that a ‘Bodhisattva’ trains in and practices to realize perfect enlightenment.

It is the end now guys.
